Information about printing Within the vacations we darstically changed the printing procedure. From now on, it is not possible to print directly from any workstation to any printer. As you may know, printing over the network causes heavy traffic. In the past, some students put the print-queues remotely on hold or overloaded the queues dramatically with remotely opened documents containing several gigabytes – causing the printers to stop. With the beginning semester, we disabled the option to print directly to any printer on the network to solve those problems. From now on, you will only be able to print your documents from one computer within the lab. (That one, that is standing right next to the printers) Thus we/you are able to control (start/stop/delete) the print-jobs that are sent to the printers. This is just an experiment.
